Pottermore

Wait? What ? More Harry Potter?

Thats right. These are my exact thought. J.K. Rowling just recently announced of a new mysterious site called www.pottermore.com. No one knows what it is and what it contains. If you got to that website address you can click on the owls and will be sent to J.K. Rowling's youtube page saying anonymous message " THE OWLS ARE GATHERING" Find you why soon ( in exactly 13hours 48 mins and 15 secs by the time this is posted).

I have been trying to guess at what J.K. Rowling could be possibly revealing in a couple of hours. Is  it the release of an rpg game? That would be cool hanging out with all the other Harry Potter friends in virtual realm left to our own magical devices (mwahahah!). Or maybe its release of more books which I have proclaimed it will cause hyperventilation  heart attacks, and probably bouts of insomnia if there ever was an announcement.

What do you think J.K. Rowling has up her sleeves for the Potter Universe?

Sarah Dessen Week: Just Listen Book Review

Sarah Dessen Week at: www.ieatwords.net

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen

Annabelle Green is the girl who seems to have everything. She is a model, on tv, and is one of the most popular girls at school. She is the last child of seemingly gorgeous model sisters. They are known as the perfect family with the glass house. But as you know nothing is as it seems...
I thought Just Listen was a wonderful read. I felt really attached to the characters and what they went through. Let me warn you though,  this book is not some petty school novel read.Just Listen deals with issues sexuality, body image, music, honesty, self prevalence, self respect, and truthfulness.

At first I was Annabelle Greene to be some preppy cheerleader type with a perfect life and just basically attracted to the misunderstood emo boy who always listened to music. But it was not like that all. It all began the previous summer where some unknown event occurred that caused Annabelle to fall out with her so called friend named Sophie. From there She found Owen the "elightned" music listener who finds silence to "loud".  He controls his anger by drowning everything with music. Annabelle is drawn to him because of his honesty and his music and they soon become friends. Annabelle and Owen are exact opposites but despite that they find comfort in each others company. There are also other stories that run through this book and it all ties off into one final statement in the end "Just Listen".

Most Loved Character:
I felt more attached to Owen than to any other character in the story because I have once ran my own radio show and I know how it feels to become so "obsessed" with music. It starts to drown out everything, changes your emotions, your life story, and your being, I loved the way he was in the story. I liked he was honest but also got angry at times, expressing his emotions , trying to do his best under the circumstances.

Book Review: 13 Little Blue Envelopes

13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson

“Va-va-voom”
- Your Runaway Aunt

“Sometimes artist like to catch themselves looking out, let the world see them for once. Its a signature. This one is a very bold one. But this is also a witnessing. We want to remember, and we want to be remembered. That's why we paint.”
- Mari ( famous artist friend of Peg’s)

13 Little Blue Envelopes is a book about an adventure and finding one self. The story begins with Ginny who is the niece of an eccentric artistic aunt named Peg. Aunt Peg sets Ginny out on an adventure that will change her life forever.  Ginny travels the world with no way of knowing what she should do there or even find there. She goes on the prompt of 13 little Blue envelopes that were sent to her before her Aunt Peg died. This game of letters have been played before and is the last wish of Aunt Peg.  The book goes on and on as she meets new friends new experiences as she travels the country.

Overall I thought it was a good read. Not something I would overly engross my self in but overall the book kept me interested . Ginny started to grow on me after a while.I felt as if I was left hanging at the end.  But luckily there is one more book to go called the The Last Little Blue Envelope which continues the story.
