Do you prefer character-driven stories, or plot-driven stories?
In books I prefer to read character-driven stories. Why do you ask? I like to relate to people, to find some type of connection to them. The book can have a wonderful plot but if I can not relate to the character in any way then its boring to me. I think that is one of the reason why Harry Potter and Twilight are so popular. So many young people and adults alike can somehow relate to the character even for the most part what they are reading may not have such a great plot. Characters are able to bring about strong emotions ( such as love, anger, hatred) that would not be readily expressed in the plot . To me characters are the emotions of the story and the plot is the action sequence.
You can preform the action but if there is no emotion it is nothing.

Great answer! I'm definitely a people person so characters are what drive a book for me too. I could sit and people watch all day so it's probably no surprise I can sit and read about them all day either!

Agreed! Characters are so important. Even the best plot fails with bad characters.
